Townsley works and lives in L.A., Ca. and received his BA in Art from Cal State L.A. and his Masters of Fine Art from Otis Art Institute. He has taught mural painting through UCLA Extension and was an instructor at Cal Arts teaching figure, color theory, design, and painting. Townsley has extensive experience in the entertainment industry and has painted murals for theme parks including Disneyland, Sea World, Six Flags Magic Mountain, and for McLaren’s Home for Children for which he received a commendation from the Los Angeles County Supervisors. His murals in hotels include Las Vegas (Mirage, Holiday Inn, and Aladdin) as well as the Queen Mary in Long Beach, Ca. He has been commissioned to paint murals and paintings for Western Bagel, UC Riverside, Friends of Jazz at UCLA, and logos for GuerillaLit. He has exhibited at the Museum of Science and Industry in LA, and has shown in various Los Angeles galleries and venues over the years; he has shown annually at the James Gray Gallery
