The poems within these pages describe the many pieces of human experience. Most are written as stories describing children's thoughts, adult reflections, stories of crime and war and disaster. There are spiritual poems of faith and hope, poems about inspiring people, relationships and romance, poems about labour and industry and rants against society. Some of these stories describe innocence, some talk of our carefree or serious spirits, some are dark and tragic, and some happy or sad.
David Pekrul was born in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada and raised and educated in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada. He spent most of his adult life working in the travel industry, first as a Travel Consultant, then with a major Canadian airline and retired in October 14, 2005. Prior to his career in travel, David attended Bible College, played trumpet, both solo and in amateur groups, and preached whenever asked. Since retirement he has tried a few different jobs, just trying to find out what he wants to really do. He has worked in a funeral home and crematorium, front desk at a hotel, dispatcher for a moving company and projectionist at a theatre. He is now back working in a funeral home again, and feels that is the job he was always meant to do.
