    This collection of poetry strives to capture the feeling of those lost places in our past, which we can never recapture; while also looking forward to where we are and where we want to be. Many poems center around the misguided worship of independence- focusing rather, on the need for love from both an earthly figure and a heavenly figure alike.

    During my time spent at college, I discovered my love for writing. I began writing poetry at Western Oregon University and the addiction has metastasized since. Many professors- one being a book selector for Scholastic, encouraged me to pursue a career as an author. One day it dawned on me: I should compile my poetry into a book. Two books later, here I am.
