The Story of Salvation is a guide to a remarkable set of stained glass windows which depict the life of Jesus Christ. The events in the Old Testament which foretell those of the New Testament are shown. The designs are based on those of the Biblia Pauperum, published in the late Fifteenth Century, which were the designs of Cardinal Morton when he glazed the Archbishop's Chapel at Lmbeth in 1486. The artists are Carl Edwards and Huigh Powell who were selected by Archbishop Fisher to reglaze the Chapel in 1955 to replace the windows all of which were destroyed in World War II. The book describes the biblical context of each window and attempts to interpret the iconography. The text is supported by outstanding photographs.
