About the Creator
Dean Dablow was born in Superior, Wisconsin in 1946. He spent his early childhood in North Dakota before his family moved to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin in 1957. At the age of seventeen he was employed by the federal government in Washington, DC. and it was here that he cemented his interest in a career as an artist. His undergraduate training at the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point was as a painter/sculptor but the camera became increasingly intriguing as a tool for making art. He was a graduate student of John Schulze at the University of Iowa where he received his MFA in photography in 1974. He taught photography at Louisiana Tech University for thirty-one years and served nine of those years as the Director of the School of Art. He retired in 2007 and continues to work in several media including photography, painting, and sculpture. His work may be seen on his website. www.deandablowart.com
