Between 1994 and 2014, David Barbour has travelled to Havana 18 times to document life on the street, complete assignments and lead photo workshops. Highlights include World Press Award in 1985 for a photograph taken in Egypt for the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). Barbour worked for CIDA for 10 years where he photograhed in over 35 countries in Africa and Asia. In 1999, awarded Mid-Career Canada Council Grant to complete work in Havana.
