"Holy Havoc" is a stunning visual record of the renovation of St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City. Scaffolding and construction items add incredible visual confusion to the scene. Cummings uses traditional photographic angles to show a strange funhouse in which holy architecture and scaffolding blend into a cohesive visual stew that works on many levels.
David Cummings is a practicing dentist in Anniston, Alabama. He and his wife Lesa enjoy travel. They go to new places to see and photograph new things a couple of times a year. He is inspired by the traditions of black-and-white photography, and tries to come home with personal images that are different than everyone else's view.
