This is a heartwarming story of a young city-girl who goes to live on her grandparents farm in the country. The book takes place in 1963, giving it a nostalgic, "simpler-world" feel. Written originally when the author was only 11 years old, the story has a magical feel that comes from a real-life child's perspective. The chapters are just the right length for a bed-time read, and each has at least one delightful color illustration. Suitable for children 4 to 12yrs., or any young at heart adult!
Jan is a former professional musician who now devotes most of her time to visual arts. She lives in Indiana with her husband Joe, (and dog Toby), and has a daughter, Andrea, in college.
