This magazine is a copy of the package that was submitted to the American Institute of Architects for nomination of Julia Morgan for the 2014 Gold Medal. This document presents an excellent look at the variety and mastery of Miss Morgan's prolific career as an architect and civil engineer. It contains essays from various Julia Morgan historians and scholars as well as beautiful photographs from various Julia Morgan archives and professional photographers. As a result, Julia Morgan, FAIA became the first woman in history to win this award. If you want a good overall introduction to the breath and diversity of Miss Morgan's work, this is a good place to start.

The principal of KimpStudio, Miss Perette provides graphic design, identity and marketing solutions for architectural firms. With 30 years of residence in the San Francisco Bay area, she has a storied history with San Francisco’s architectural landscape and its many idiosyncrasies. Her current focus is on women in the profession of Architecture and is active in the architectural community on a local and national level. She worked with Landmarks California on the Julia Morgan 2012 Festival and is on the board of Directors for the Berkeley City Club Conservancy. She designed a permanent exhibition on Julia Morgan for Mills College and recently worked on the steering committee and designed the submission that won a posthumous gold medal for Julia Morgan, the first ever awarded to a women.
