David Bjorkman has created these exquisite, complex black-and-white collages by met-iculously cutting out reproductions of late nineteenth century wood engravings. The talented artists who made these works of art were the top illustrators of their day, and wood engravings were the primary method by which pictures were reproduced in the publishing industry.
David has created visual masterpieces with these figures, cities and landscapes. He uses the surrealistic metaphor of dreams to project a mysterious, pithy, literary, artistic, and hum-orous commentary on our contemporary cul-ture. He has been described as a "Renais-sance man in the age of American idols."
Come and journey into the Dreamland of The Razor's Edge; Roswell by the Sea; The Four Horsemen of the Apothecary; O Jerusalem; The Comte de Saint-Germain; The Moment of Death Bardo; Even in Arcadia, There Am I; As Above, So Below; and The Joy of Dancing to Someone Else's Tune.
