RAB3 saidI am Grace's slightly older brother. I lived these memories about the trees and iris that our Mother tended lovingly. We were a blessed family unit in the post WW2 days. We shared our stay at home Mother and Dad with 2 older brothers in an old,but comfortable farm house on 50 acres in upstate NY. Dad usually had 2 or 3 jobs that kept him busy, but he was a full time hands on Dad. We tended several 'pet' animals and grew much of our own meat and foods. Grace was a much needed addition to our 3 boy household. She and I, being the youngest 2, did mostly in house chores till we grew older. Mom was blessed with her girl and we all grew up. Little did I know or guess Grace was & IS such a talented person. Writing is just the tip of the talent .... jewelry making, molding/ casting, quilting etc. I still have and cherish the shirt she made for me about 50 years ago......... she even instructed me on making a necktie that I wore to church recently. Grace IS the BEST sister I could have ever have hoped for. I have a long way to grow into her Godly example........ Lord help me.
