About the Book
HOME, 2014
An archi-treasures project by Thresholds members and artist Matthew Hoffman.
“Home” is a wood cut typography-based artwork that combines images created by many Thresholds members during a series of art workshops. Through a participatory design process, members drew, cut out, and painted shapes that explored the meaning of home. Before participants took their artwork home with them, the artist photographed each piece. He then transposed and refined the imagery, overlaying it with the word “home” crafted from reclaimed lumber. This quilt-like piece welcomes all residents and visitors to the Fred and Pamela Buffett Place and embraces the spirit of Thresholds, which is encapsulated in the words home, health, and hope.
