About the Creator
Graduate of Kant-Gymnasium, Berlin. Studies in architecture at the Technical University of Berlin. A decisive friendship with the German photographer Herbert List encouraged Amos Schliack to pursue a career in photography. Since early years as a photographer Amos Schliack has kept his ties with Israel, working there many times for magazines such as Geo and Stern. In close collaboration with journalists Wibke Bruhns and Henryk Broder Amos Schliack published three books on Jerusalem. 'Early 2008 I moved to Tel Aviv and lived there for a bit more than a year as a self-assigned photographer in residence. After class in an Ulpan, a language school for new immigrants, I would spent most my days (and nights) exploring the streets of this exciting place. My aim was to create a 'snapshot' of the city during her centennial showing every day life of normal people behind the curtain of political news and headlines. Hope you will enjoy the book as much as i have enjoyed Tel Aviv!'
