Emerald Ballet Theatre celebrated its first birthday with a radiant production of the Nutcracker performed with the Rainier Symphony. What an inspiration to dance with a live orchestra! With snow falling thickly outside the North Shore Performing Arts Center on the campus of Bothell High School, cast and audiences braved the weather for three beautiful, nearly sold out, performances. How fitting to perform the ballet of a magical Christmas eve dream complete with swirling snowflakes.
Sets, props, and exquisite costumes complimented the efforts and talents of EBT performers. Countless volunteer hands under the direction of costume designers Cheryl Wickland and Laska Whitaker brought polish and magic to EBT’s second annual production. These photographs by resident photographer Wade Heninger capture the essence of Emerald Ballet Theatre dancers of every age.
This is truly the place where dancing hearts are nurtured and bodies honed into instruments of strength and beauty.
