About the Book
In southern Colorado, rural life-ways, traditions and culture languish between what life was like in the past and the progress of today's faster pace. During 6 months in 2005, the author photographed the daily community life and cultural traditions of San Luis residents. As a snapshot in time, her photos convey visual stories of individuals and activities that shape the unique character of these communities. Her camera lens captured stunning landscapes, adobe churches, cemetery grave markers bearing the names of past residents and visually preserved the local architecture. Her photos stand as a record for a moment in time during 2005 in the San Luis Valley.
