About the Book
The “Break Every Chain” project is a collaboration between Hope House, a ministry of Lawndale Christian Community Church, and Wheaton College Graduate Psychology. Seven Hope House members and alumni documented the challenges and resources they have encountered in their recovery/reentry experiences through photography and group discussions over the course of three months. A photovoice exhibit was held on July 19, 2014, in order to engage the wider community in discussing the steps to promote positive change in our neighborhood.
The images contained in this book represent only a small sample of the total number of pictures taken and discussed throughout the course of this project. We are glad you are seeing the pictures and hearing the voices behind the camera in order to learn how you can also be a part of breaking every chain.
