About the Book
In this volume Nicholas Travers shares photographic visions from his travels and his new home in the northwest. Included are daily musings on the passing weather, city scenes, and seasonal variations in the lines and hues of the Columbia River Gorge. Traveling through California, Nicholas brought back gems from the coast and the redwoods. Returning briefly to the Utah desert, one of his favorite subjects, Nicholas composed sweeping panoramas. Enjoy this sampling and celebration of the images discovered in 2013.
Features & Details
Nicholas enjoys being and exploring, and has traveled through Europe, the US, and New Zealand. He is often seen through the trees, under the open sky, or on a desert. He has an inquisitive mind and an appreciation for quality and workmanship. “Your presence should pass as a shadow over the land, and act as a sunrise to the mind” Nicholas has been exploring the world with photography ever since he first saw a print come up in the developer during high school. These days he thinks he spends too much time sorting and editing files on a screen, when he would rather spend more time in his wet darkroom making black and white prints from 35mm or his Tachihara 4x5. Yet he likes to share, and it is with dedication and through the accessibility of digital media that he shares most of his images.
