About the Book
I hope this collection of paintings will encourage readers to look for the space between our thoughts. We are conditioned to conduct our day to day lives with busy minds and I believe that in doing so, we are distracted from experiencing the benefits of a still mind. A still mind, without thoughts, can experience the underlying wisdom driving all life which is beyond our understanding. We can become more aware of the joy and happiness inherent within all of us and experience a peace which is only possible by being present in the moment. The paintings are initially inspired by Zen Buddhist Koans and proverbs. These are used in Zen Buddhism for contemplation by students. The stories are paradoxical and invite a very personal response. My response has been through abstract art and short prose for each Zen Koan. Readers looking for spiritual self help books, meditation guides and mindfulness books will hopefully find this of interest. Anybody interested in spiritual abstract art or living in the moment may enjoy the concepts depicted.
