An American Impressionist

Helmut (Pete) Beckmann is primarily a painter of the outdoors. A passionate observer of the changing seasons, he paints to capture the mood and poetic beauty of nature.

The great German Poet and Art Critic Wolfgang von Goethe once said, 'If you paint a monkey exactly like a monkey is, you will just have two monkeys'.

'My art reflects my fascination with light, color and mood. In an impressionist painting it is not a scene wich i am trying to reproduce, but rather the sensations a particular scene created in me, a visual melody to touch our senses and our souls, never to be tired of.'

Born in Germany, he has been in this country since 1954. Pete has an international perspective of his art and travels to collect his visual impressions. He has delighted hundreds of audiences with lectures and painting demonstrations on 'the Joy of Painting'. His paintings are represented in legions of corporate and private collections in the US, Canada, Europa, Japan and the Middle East.

Enoise says

Pete Beckmann was my first art instructor. This book is a true represention of his work, the colors are clear and true to the original canvases. Mr. Beckmann, paints beautiful landscapes that creates a feeling of transcedence, as if you can remember sitting by the stream, or walking in the gardens or mountains. You can almost feel the sun kiss your face, the cold of the snow, or a light breeze ruffle your hair.
A very beautiful book for artists or people who love art.
