Ed Cleave was born in Port Alberni, B.C. and spent most of his youth in New Westminster. He worked at several jobs and eventually settled into welding as a career. At 59 years of age, Ed put welding behind him and became an artist. After doing water colour painting for several years, Ed wanted a change and turned his hand to poetry. His intention was to write about people in pain and some of his own life experiences. He has also tried to give the so-called 'street people' a voice to express their pain. Ed's hope is that we will all be a little kinder in life.
