Polaroids is a collection of photographs shot on the instant film format of the same name. Taken between 2004-2007, most were made within the same house in Rochester, New York with some additionally from Brooklyn, New York.
Tom Starkweather is a photographer based out of Brooklyn, New York. He holds a BFA in Photojournalism from Rochester Institute of Technology. Tom began his career as a photojournalist in high school where he worked for a local newspaper in the D.C. area. Through his career, Tom has worked as a freelance photographer for media such as The New York Times and Bloomberg News, has held photo editor positions for various publications, and has also been a lead instructor for photography workshops. Currently, Tom is continuing work as a freelance photojournalist. His most recent book, Currents (2010), features photos that look at the intersections and relationships that exist between and within our natural and urban worlds.
