About the Creator
Bernardo Vallarino
Fort Worth, Texas
Bernardo creates mix media sculptures and installations that explores themes of human suffering, violence, abuse of power, politics, control and hypocrisy. He was born in Santa Barbara, California, raised in Bogotá, Colombia and in 1995 he and his family migrated back to the US. This move gave him a new perspectives of the world that constantly informs his artwork. In his work you will also find direct or indirect reference to insects and entomology. The plight and reputation of insects allow the artist to make metaphors regarding the disposable manner in which human life is sometime treated. Bernardo graduated with a BFA in sculpture from Texas Christian University and MFA in the same field from Texas Woman’s University.
