About the Book
Photographs of New Zealand by a non-traveller on the trip of a lifetime. I always wanted to visit New Zealand and finally got there inOctober 2007. As a non-traveller, a home body, it was a huge undertaking for me but I loved it!
The trip was a self-drive 5-week adventure. The photographs in the book are in the order that they were taken which makes it a useful guide as to how to plan a similar adventure for yourself and what you can fit into your holiday comfortably.
The photographs in the book show Paihia, The Bay of Islands, Waitangi Treaty Grounds, Hokianga Harbour, Waipoua Forest, Auckland, Kerangahake Gorge, Rotorua, geothermal areas and Wellington all on the North Island.
The second part of the book shows scenes from Abel Tasman, Blenheim, whale-watching at Kaikoura, Hamner Springs, Reefton, Hokitika, Franz Josef and a helicopter flight, Hasst Pass, Lakes Hawea, jetboating in Shotover Gorge, Te Anau, Doubtful Sound, Otago peninsula, Mount Cook National Park, Lake Pukaki and the Southern Alps, Tekapo, Christchurch, Akoroa on the Banks peninsula and Arthur's Pass.
