The Mummers play Knighty Knight was originally commissioned for the 2nd annual Deep Freeze Winter Festival at the Alberta Avenue Community League in Edmonton, Alberta on January 10th 2009. There were two performances, one at 5pm and one at 9pm. There was a full moon and the temperature for both outdoor performances was -19C. The original idea for the project came from Christy Morin, the festival producer. The funding was provided by Pamela Anthony at the Winter Light Festival organization.
