About the Book
The romance between pearl and silver began long ago. Both have been interwoven throughout history evoking passion, sensuality, devotion, purity, modesty and the perfection of the natural world. Pearl was the first gem to be valued by mankind. Pearl has a luster like nothing else found within a living creature. Silver has a luster like nothing else found within the earth. Since the beginning of time maidens wore pearls to signify nobility and silver to reflect beauty. We now join the luster of pearl to the luster of silver and make a new jewelry called SilverSilk & Pearls.
I have worked with several metals and alloys including a new sterling silver called Argentium. This alloy increases the strength of sterling which allows for the knitting of a fine wire into the Viking stitch pattern. The knitted mesh is used to make new designs for sterling jewelry.
