The diversity of Japan is easily seen but not always recognized from the outside. The contrasts of urban sprawl and vast unpopulated mountain ranges, old tradition and modern trends, and rigid social pressure and wild nonconformity, make Japan a fascinating and beautiful place to live.
During the past two years I have tried to capture some of this diversity and beauty with my camera.
This book is a collection of photographs to share how Japan looks through my eyes.

I owe my training in photography to Seattle area photographer and teacher Bob Runyon who taught me how to bring together the art and science of photography in the late 1980's. I have been shooting with DSLR's for the past 2+ years. Living in Japan for the past eight years. Japan is a very colorful and photographic country. A dream come true for landscape and fine art photographers!
