Photographic impressions from a bewitching island at the gateway to Patagonia in southern Chile, where time stands still and mythological creatures are found everywhere. The light there has a special quality and ships are still build one plank at a time . There is a tradition of street musicians and wool is spun by hand.

H.M,
Great photos. They bring back memories of me and my wife's trip over to Chiloe when we lived in Santiago (84-90). We put our car on the train and went all the way to Puerto Montt. We took the ferry over and drove around to the fort for lunch. We drove back up to Santiago over several days spending the night in various places like Pucon at the huge hotel at Lake Villarrica, Osorno, lunching again at the restuarnt in Frutillar looking at out the window at Volcano Osorno. Later in our stay we took a bus trip to Arica and spent most of our weekends at the beach in Zapallar. Matter of fact we left our initials on one of the huge plants there. We have lots of pictures and videos of our adventures in Chile and they are a part of one of my books "Grandpa Jones - The First Sixty Years."
