This collection illustrates the design philosophy of RhDesign. A long time proponent of adaptive reuse, responsible and sensible architectural design, and great style based in function and economy (all before Green was Green), Ritch has worked on a vast range of design projects in the past 25 years, but has always strived to follow one rule: LIVE BEAUTIFULLY. This lookbook illustrates the diversity and varied interpretations across a broad palette of projects - from new construction and master plans to renovations and repurposed furnishings, both in the residential and commercial arenas.
Currently based in the Berkshire mountains of western Massachusetts, and now expanding to Miami, Ritch is looking forward to helping others find their unique solutions to...LIVE BEAUTIFULLY.
I am one of the Pennsylvania farm boys who got to see the world. In my junior year of architecture school, I had the opportunity to study in Europe, and everything changed. After completing my studies in Germany, I traveled extensively from the fjords of Norway to the Isles of Greece. Often traveling solo, I got to experience life at its finest - not in material goods (after all, sleeping on trains every night because a Eurail pass is all one has) isn't glamorous, but it certainly was beautiful. Which has become my life's mission. To see beauty and capture it. To help create it where I can. To live it. Since college, I've lived in Philadelphia, New York and Boston, and now live in the bucolic and culturally rich Berkshire mountains of Massachusetts. It's been inspiring, a place of intelligent, creative and lovely friends. But now, not being 'winter-folk" my partner and I are adding Miami to our resumes. Ocean light. Warm breezes. a Latin beat. I cannot wait to share it all.
