About the Book
It’s up to you what you see, enjoy or fear in these paintings. I don’t provide any standards or specifications on how to decode them. However, if you have difficulties with your own interpretation which often ends in some sort of sadomasochistic clichés, then try seeing it this way: These paintings are not about restraining women, they are not even about women per se. They are about humans - about the human struggle due to amnesia. We forgot who we are, where we came from, why we are here. We don’t have the foggiest idea what this existence is all about - at least most of us don’t. All we have is some history - the past, of which 99% is not even rooted in our each individual experience, but information we’ve been fed by our parents, teachers, priests, imams, rabbis, philosophers, books, traditions, movies, fairy tales, ideologies and I don’t know what. This “past” is like an operating system running in our brains, absorbing most of our attention, absorbing most of our consciousness, keeping us asleep in false dreams and nightmares. It’s a mental parasite disguised as knowledge and culture. So much for the cords and cables. Now you ask me: “Why women”? Because for me as a man the female form is much more attractive than the male. It’s the antithesis to what I am in this life. For me the human beauty blooms especially in its female manifestation.
