About the Book
Italy has always fascinated travelers from around the world, visiting the masterpieces, monuments, and landscapes. As well as enjoying the excellence and variety of its food and wines.
This is a country that one can visit again and again, with so much beauty to see! Even a frequent visitor to Italy won't ever be indifferent to the fascinating Rialto Bridge in Venice nor to Rome's Colosseum or to any one of the many famous and symbolic places.
The Italian people lend itself to different stereotypes exalting Latin gaiety or artistic creativity. Others, contemptuously label just about everyone as "mafia".
Yet, according to an old saying this was a "country of saints, poets, and navigators", which invokes quite romantically, the essence of these Lands. In Naples, they give us an even more passionate image when they say in dialect "chistu e' o' paese do sole" (this is the country of sun).
This is " Il Bel Paese", or the beautiful country. The great cities of art and the most famous places are well known to all. Some of these places such as Rome or the Amalfi Coast are represented in this book. But this book is dedicated, above all, to the many little unknown places but that are not any less enchanting and are just as rich in history, culture, and art.
A bit of "minor" Italy, as I see it.
