Panorama Wales, Volume One, is published as a limited edition book of 250. It is the first book to be published by Photographer Mark Robert Davey and Cultural Anthropologist Annette Strauch. The book consists of 40 panoramic black and white photographs shot on film over a period of 4 years comprising the people, culture and diverse landscape of Wales. Throughout the book the photographs create an atmospheric story traveling through rugged mountains, showing the contorted spine and skull of a long dead sheep to romantic wind-swept beaches with wind-crafted sand and dramatic cloud filled skies stretching to the horizon. Characters such as 'Colin' the woodcarver who pitches up his caravan along roadside lay-bys to make beautiful wooden animal sculptures, such as owls and wild hares from re-claimed woods and trees.
Photographs from this book have been exhibited internationally and have also been collected by private and national institutions. Davey's work has also featured in publications worldwide.
