Me, my space, my place
Some personal experiences of a group of retired people who have made the move from 'home to Home'.
by Compiled by Maris Cole
To move from one's own home into a residential Care Home is a major decision in life for many people.
This collection of individual experiences, feelings and memories was gathered during a quest to discover how people who retired to a Care Home in Wiltshire made the Home their home and what resources they each drew upon to sustain them.
The words and pictures in 'Me, my space, my place' will, in a positive way, be of interest to people considering residential care or anyone who is involved in the care of the elderly.
After a career in primary education Maris Cole graduated in 2007 with a First Class degree in Fine Art. Her work explores feelings associated with memory, faithfulness, mortality and time passing. Flowers and threads are recurring motifs in her work.
