About the Book
Thirty years have past since 1984. In 2014: Russia annexes Crimea, an estimated 276 girls and women are abducted and held hostage from a school in Nigeria, a Boeing 777 airliner en route to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur disappears over the Gulf of Thailand; the year ISIS begins an offensive through northern Iraq; Brazil lost to Germany (1:7) in the World Cup; Gabriel Garcia Marquez died; the Umbrella Revolution taken place, my this trilogy: faith, hope, love, was born. Inspired by George Orwell's 1984, I attempted to create an imaginative world that could come to be in thirty years from now. This work takes the form of a book and of an exhibition in which I combine words, traditional photographs, glitched images and images borrowed from the virtual world of the web, I selected 18 pictures from the body of work, divided them into 3 groups of 6. Images and text will be combined on the walls for the exhibition.
