About the Book
For her final project in Youthprise's Youth Artist-in-Residency Program, Nancy developed a photo story on one of Minnesota’s largest Diasporas in its state, Liberians in Brooklyn Park and Brooklyn Center, to capture a renewed perspective on the Ebola crisis.
Over the course of 4 months, Nancy conducted a series of interviews with Minnesotans whose Liberian heritage or relationship to Liberia has impacted their sense of self, community, and definitions of home. The intentions of this project is to build stronger connections between older and younger generations of color through narratives that connect the past and present while teaching lessons about our shared future.
