The Lingepad is one of the most attractive of the many walking routes through The Netherlands, winding its way eastward from Leerdam along the river Linge. You walk through villages, farmland, and orchards; past thousand-year-old churches and ancient apple trees. You're never far from water, whether the Linge or the mighty Waal. You sleep in farmhouse B&Bs, or little hotels; you take ferries when you want; you eat in wonderful restaurants or picnic on delicious cheese bought en route. This book records a walk taken during apple-blossom season by the photographer, his wife, two daughters and a granddaughter. After looking through it, you may want to follow their footsteps.
