About the Book
Zone Zero presents Photo-Graffiti, the debut collection from photographer Claire Bouleau. Bouleau’s photographs playfully expose the sensuality of everyday life. Whether it’s the turn of a curtain, a rain-drenched sidewalk, or a handprint on a pane of glass, Bouleau’s photographs reinterpret the mundane as something sublime. In documenting the world around us, Photo-Graffiti twists our sense of what is real, revealing beauty in the often neglected and over-looked.

Claire Bouleau is a journalist and photographer. Born in Paris France, she lives in Washington DC. With two decades working in TV journalism, Bouleau’s work features strong narrative structure and sense of story telling. She also injects her work with a passion for good design. Bouleau’s work focuses primarily on landscape and humankind’s relationship with the natural world. Photo-Graffiti continues her commitment to nature while exploring the urban landscape. Textures, feelings, and moods are conveyed through ordinary objects, persons or a simple palette of colors. Bouleau’s photographs often disassociate image from the context, engaging the viewer to confront their emotional response head on.
