The Golden Gate is a narrow strait which lies between the San Francisco and Marin Peninsulas and connects the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay. The Golden Gate is often mistaken for the Golden Gate Bridge but in fact the bridge sit upon the land of the strait.
