About the Book
From September-December 2014, tens of thousands of Hong Kong residents took to the streets as part of the “Umbrella Movement” in an effort to secure open elections by 2017.
After seeing many friends and family divided by the issue, Tsang decided to photograph the movement from October-November. His resulting series is a composite of photojournalism and portraiture allowing participants to express their opinions anonymously in a society where protests is undertaken at great personal risk.
