About the Book
The city of Auckland, being on the southern edge of the “Winterless North” in New Zealand’s North Island, has a very mild climate. The only time it has seen snow since 1930 was a brief shower in 2011. We get a few frosty mornings each winter and that’s it. This is why the Auckland Botanic Gardens have flowers all year round. And winter is especially beautiful in the camellia and magnolia garden. This book features photos of plants and wildlife taken exclusively in the gardens during winter 2015.

About the Creator

New Zealand
A painter, sculptor and former jeweller, I have always had a passion for photography and nature, buying my first camera with my Christmas money at 9 and upsetting my parents by using a 12-photo roll of negatives in an afternoon taking pictures of a spider. I always had to hold back because of the cost of the film processing. Now nearly 50 years later, with the arrival of the digital era, nothing is holding me back any more and I can finally embrace my passion.
