About the Book
The illustrations for this book are based on photographs taken at an encampment in Yarmouth, MA. The skirmishes took place over two days in August 2015. I want to express my thanks to the organizers for inviting me to this private event. I am also indebted to all the reenactors for their cooperation and patience.

About the Creator
Mikael Carstanjen
Brewster, MA
Mikael Carstanjen was born one hundred yards from the Baltic Sea. He immigrated to the United States in 1950. He is a third generation artist following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. Fifteen years ago he began to experiment with digital photography and digital printmaking. His photography is a starting point for the images he wants to create. Working on the cutting edge of “digital painting” he brings to this new work the dedication of a craftsman and his highest artistic ideals as an artist. When you couple his technical knowledge of the computer and his extensive fine arts background the results are superb images known for their elegance of composition and luminous beauty.
