Great photographers have always challenged us to see differently. Just as Richard Prince makes us see advertising differently, Turbaugh asks us to reconsider Bernini's Ecstasy of Saint Teresa. His argument that this sculpture is pornographic would certainly have merit. The artist shows the faces of the pornographic model caught in a moment of ecstasy for us to compare. Thereby linking his own work to history. This is what great artist do, they declare there inspirations and bring us something new. These images are sumptuous - my mind wandered. The faces provide a good examination without getting too close. Additionally, one must ask them-self to think about what is not shown versus what is shown.

An amazing achievement to create an erotic photobook with no genitals, no bodies, just faces. Picasso could paint the sensation of an orgasm, Mr. Turnbaugh has done this with photographs.

For anyone attracted to the phenomenology of sexuality and sexual experiences - these photos really express the tender/brutal/beautiful of watching. Not to mention, its also really hot.
