On February 27th, 2009 once again Anatoly’s personal exhibition was held at the Sukachev Art Museum in Irkutsk, Russia. About 100 canvases were presented there, 40 of them from its Museum Collection. Irkutsk is an academic city with population about million people located near one of the greatest wonders of nature, Lake Baikal.
Throughout the period of over 50 years, dozens of haunting Anatoly’s personal and group exhibits were shown across Russia with memorable success.
In every sketch, in every painting produced by Anatoly, you can feel and see strong hand of a big master. Kostovsky creates calm and serene feeling through his works, characterized by the presence of light, rich colors and brush strokes. Anatoly dedicated himself to a style that reveals his intimate relationship with the land of people. Great variety of his art works also tell us how rich and powerful Kostovsky's inner world is. He shares with us beauty of Siberian nature, its people and their everyday lives.
Tatiana Lee, the art critic from Manchester, UK says in her article about Anatoly:
“ Kostovsky is self - sufficient, a person who found his place in Creation and who has dedicated whole life to it. That’s why he never sought for favor from power, did not try to earn goodwill from audience, indulging the whimsies of fashion.”
Many others - dealers, critics, friends and fellow artists react to the paintings of his with a great respect to the Master, and describe living legend Anatoly Kostovsky's talent as genius...
