About the Book
This collection of poetry and photography brings together the work of Nat and Rachel Marshik, two sisters who approach the world around them with an acute curiosity. Each of Nat's poems is enriched with images from Rachel's travels through North America, Latin America, Europe, North Africa, and China. In both art forms, the sisters attend as carefully to detail--the quality of winter ice, the taste of skin--as to the broader strokes of history and landscape.
"Nat Marshik’s poems have a particular freshness, both of imagery and of subject matter, that imparts a strong clarity of voice. This is a poetic voice that grasps rhythm and pacing and which is filled 'with sudden light.'" --Arleen Pare, author of Lake of Two Mountains
