Martin J. Smith is a journalist and magazine editor who has won more than 40 writing awards. He also is the author of the crime novels "Time Release," "Shadow Image," and the Edgar Award-nominated "Straw Men," and he co-wrote, with Patrick J. Kiger, the pop-culture history books "Poplorica" and "Oops." He and his family live in Southern California.
