About the Book
There is beauty everywhere in the world, even in the most unlikely of places. To be able to steal a moment in time, capture the light and energy of that moment and reproduce it in still form as vividly as it lives in my memory is something I've always wanted to achieve.
In Year One I share my first attempts at capturing the world around me using the tools available to me to reproduce that world as I remember experiencing it, as it lives in my memory.
Year one looks at my interest in photography, earlier work using compact cameras and how in the past year I've explored various areas of photography, combined the use of digital SLR cameras with software post-processing tools and follows the results I've been able to achieve.

Much of the photography in this book is focused in and around my home town of London in the UK with some dramatic HDR work of famous London landmarks like Big Ben, The London Eye and St. Paul's Cathedral.
Concert photography includes images from more intimate shows by Coldplay, The Killers, Jessica Irvine, Kooks and Stereophonics.
Kalpesh Patel is a London-based software developer who spends his idle hours not being particularly idle. He plays guitar and writes music, spends as much time as possible out in the mountains snowboarding and photographs whatever he finds interesting along the way.
