About the Book
The Fix, a fine art publication run by Point Park University students, will be presenting An Exploration of Conceptual Art, an annual juried show. This exhibition has been juried by David Oresick, Director of the Silver Eye Center for Photography, and Jessica Beck, Assistant Curator of the Andy Warhol Museum. There will be an opening reception held at the Mine Factory from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm on January 23rd, 2016.
Hannah Harley, the acting administrator for the exhibition, organized this show with the help of April Friges, the Director of Point Park University’s B.F.A. Photography program. Harley was a founding co-editor of the Fix and has been instrumental in growing the organization from just a quarterly magazine to include a monthly podcast analyzing contemporary issues in photography, a website featuring online content, and now, an annual juried exhibition to showcase exceptional student work. April Friges has transformed Point Park University’s photography department, implementing a stricter fine art focus and encouraging students to produce and be a part of events such as this one.
With the support of Point Park University and the Point Park Photography Collective, the Fix enthusiastically presents the work of 16 artists, as selected by David Oresick and Jessica Beck. There will be an opening reception from 6:00 - 9:00 pm on January 23rd, 2016 at the Mine Factory in Braddock, PA.
