About the Book
Nations have been built and are maintained by imaginings that portray what it means to be part of that community.
Beginning at the registry office and Blacksmiths of Gretna, through the former ‘debatable lands’, Kielder Forest, a section of the Pennine Way and ending at Berwick Rangers FC; the only club based in England who ply their trade in Scottish leagues.
96 miles of separation is the culmination of a 96 mile walk criss-crossing the entire length of the Anglo-Scottish border documenting the people and the spaces of these two nations to investigate whether, since its formation in 1237AD, the border still affects the identities and lives of the people directly either side of it.
