Palm Beach County is not only a destination for snowbirds and tourists, but for art lovers, too. As home to international art shows and world-class galleries, the county is also a base for many talented artists.
On April 23, 2009, The Gallery at LK Mix, located at 5616 So. Dixie Highway in West Palm Beach, Florida, debuted its first juried invitational show “Uncommon Objects.”
Forty area artists participated in the exhibit displaying an unusual array of paintings, sculptures, photography and mixed media art. Opening night welcomed more than 300 people who included artists, media, gallery owners, neighborhood residents and art lovers who came to meet the artists and purchase art.
“Uncommon Objects” exhibition ran through May 16. Owners and artists Linda and Kelly Dean Manganaro founded LK Mix, which features fun, funky furniture and objects. Recently, Betty Wilson, owner of The Craft Gallery, joined as the director of
The Gallery at LK Mix.
The Gallery will continue to host juried exhibitions showcasing talented area artists and serve as a hub for the new South Dixie Art District.
