About the Book
In the early days of 1966, four students from Holy Cross College, led by their young guide, completed the first recorded winter climb of Colorado's famous Mount of the Holy Cross. Following their dramatic success and safe return, a Denver, Colorado artist, Loma Creighton, was moved to give the students an oil painting she had previously completed of the mountain. This is the back story of the painting and its artist, as well as the guide who led the expedition and the original photographer of the mountain whose iconic 1873 image had inspired the Denver artist. The oil painting was subsequently donated to Holy Cross College by the class of 1966,

Jim Creighton lives in Englewood, Colorado. He has an undergraduate degree in business and an MBA from the University of Colorado in Boulder. In addition to his career in business, he has varied interests ranging from sports and music to hiking, golf and family history. He and his wife, Dee Dee, have two children; a son, Grant and daughter, Blair.
