About the Book
(This longer version of the book includes a section on American & American African quilts). I was raised in a family environment that encouraged the practice of several artistic pursuits. Over time, I began to develop my skills in freelance pencil drawings and Persian Miniatures, embroidery, knitting, cooking, gardening, and decorating. I recall pleasant memories when I learned by watching my mother, my aunts and other close relatives cook a gourmet meal, sew a dress, or knit a perfect sweater. My contribution to their long list of talents is gardening, fruit jamming, pickling, canning in general and knitting, embroidery & quilting specifically. I think I have demonstrated the aptitude and excellence in quilting, and most of my quilts have been my original designs. Among all my hobbies quilting is the most personally satisfying and rewarding. I am also passionate that all of my quilts will last long beyond my time and that each quilt made or given is a loving expression of my devotion.
